Safety has come a long way; the flat rung stepladder was patented by John H Balsley in 1862. The term Low-Level Access, now describes an entirely new specialist sector within the access industry. The term is generally used to denote operating in environments up to a 4.5-5m working height internally, on flat, level surfaces, using manual or powered access equipment.

Power Towers Ltd., a UK manufacturer founded in 2007, stood at the foundation of the Low-Level Access industry. Five years later, in 2013, the Pecolift and Ecolift were introduced as an innovative and unique Low-Level Access solution in the UK as an alternative to ladders and podiums. Since then, their use has grown in the UK and their use is now considered a best practice in place of ladders and podiums. They are recognized not only for improving safety, but also for their simplicity, efficiency and improved operators’ ergonomics.

The Pecolift and Ecolift are powered by a combination of the entrepreneurial spirit of Power Towers Ltd., world’s leading manufacturer of low level access platform for working at height, and the strength of JLG industries Inc., a world-leading supplier of Aerial Work Platforms, founded in 1969 with offices located throughout the world.

JLG Industries Inc. purchased Power Towers Ltd. in 2015 to quickly enter the Low-Level Access segment to spread these innovative clean, ergonomic, simple and safe solutions all around the world.

Power Towers and JLG’s mission is to provide safer alternatives for working at height while contribute to a more sustainable and safe work environment.

JLG and Power Towers are creating the new standard for working at low level heights, while enriching lives by redefining jobs sites.
